The answer is pretty simple: habits are important because they are the things we do on a daily basis. And if we want to be successful, then we need to make sure that our habits reflect that goal. If you have bad habits, you will not be successful, but once you build good habits and productive habits, you are all set for a highly successful life.

According to researchers at Duke University, habits account for about 40 percent of our behaviors on any given day. Your life today is essentially the sum of your habits. How in shape or out of shape are you? A result of your habits. How happy or unhappy are you? A result of your habits. How successful or unsuccessful are you? A result of your habits. 

Further habits are important because they compound, and most people are not aware of this. This means that each habit builds upon the last and creates a positive feedback loop that allows us to achieve more and more.
